Why do we need a non-medical prescribing network?

This ECHO network aims to bring together a community of practice for participants, from different clinical backgrounds, who are working towards similar goals in patient care initially within the context of palliative and supportive care with the aim of enhancing prescribing practice. This popular ECHO programme has been running biannually for several years now and keeps growing from strength to strength. You can read the UHI evaluation of one of the previous programmes here. We have continued to adapt the content to ensure that it is relevant to UHI students and provides them with the most effective learning for their roles.

Who is it for?

The ECHO network is likely to particularly appeal to new prescribers of any discipline or those undertaking a prescribing qualification. The course is also aimed towards UHI students whose studies are relevant to non-medical prescribing for adults with palliative care needs. We are always happy to welcome those from the wider healthcare community and we also encourage those who have previously attended this programme to come along and continue to share their experience.

Programme details will be confirmed soon.
