Happy New Year 2025 from the SCfPE Team!

We are hoping that you have had a great start to the new year, we are very grateful for everyone who has attended and helped to support Project ECHO during the last year. The start of 2025 is going to be a busy period for Project ECHO, and we delighted to be able to share the details of some of our upcoming programmes with you now. All the headings for each ECHO below have links to the respective programme pages if you would like more details or to register your interest.

Long COVID GPs ECHO

After our successful sessions during summer last year, Long COVID ECHO is beginning again on Wednesday, 22nd January. The first session will be covering supporting the mental health of patients.

This programme has been designed with GPs needs in mind, we have collaborated with NHS NSS to ensure that the content is relevant and in line with current guidance.

Non Medical Prescribers ECHO

Our long running ECHO series aimed at Non medical prescribers will be returning for 4 sessions in February. The programme is specifically put together with those undertaking the non medical prescribing course at the UHI in mind, though we welcome any non medical prescribers who are interested.

Facilitated by Lucy Dixon, the topics that will be covered in this programme all relate to issues in palliative care. We will be joined by fantastic speakers including Dr Jeremy Keen, Dr Gordon Linklater and Dr Martin Wilson.

Microbiology Webinar

We are hosting a webinar on Tuesday, 28th January with Dr Mary Peirse, who is a consultant microbiologist at Raigmore Hospital.

This webinar will be discussing antibiotic resistance and infection management in the community which are both increasingly relevant topics in public health. This will be a very insightful webinar and may lead onto further sessions in future.

Rural Fellows ECHO

After previous successful programmes, Rural Fellows ECHO will be returning for 2025.

This ECHO programme is designed for and only open to those undertaking a rural GP fellowship, the programme covers palliative care issues whilst factoring in the unique challenges faced by GPs working in remote areas.
