“We will nurture strong, collaborative relationships to support the health and wellbeing of people living in care homes and by valuing the expertise of those who work in care homes, we will empower them to deliver safe, equitable, person centre care”

Why did we join ECHO?

The area served by NHS Borders is one that is large in geography with a significant rural population. Project ECHO provides us with a method to effectively provide education and networking opportunities to social care staff working in the area regardless of where participants are in the region. These sessions also support the development of relationships and collaborative learning which is very valuable.

The team;

Lynne Pryde (Lead Nurse for Care Homes)

Fiona Hamilton (Senior Nurse)

Michelle Laidlaw (Senior Nurse)

Lynsie Murray (Clinical Educator)

Carey Liversedge (Clinical Educator)

Current and planned work

We are just about to embark on our first series of ECHO sessions, this will be a group 4 sessions relating to issues faced by staff working in care homes as a part of the broader My Health, My Care, My Home strategy developed by the Scottish Government. These sessions follow the successful series previously run in 3 other areas across Scotland.
